Volunteer for the Solstice Walk

Help Bring the Light to Life

Sign Up to Volunteer

The Winter Solstice Walk is powered by community volunteers — neighbours, families, artists, students, and supporters who help us create a beautiful, safe, and inspiring celebration. Whether you love puppeteering, organizing, crafting, assisting, or simply being part of something magical, we’d be thrilled to have you join us.

Volunteer Roles

Support participants as they build lanterns: prepping materials, helping with construction steps, and welcoming newcomers.

Lantern Workshop Assisstants

Help animate some of our larger lantern puppets (Check out the Gallery images below.). They’re even lighter than our biggest papier mâché puppets. We also need help with lantern distribution, procession guides, and post event clean up.

Event-Day Volunteers & Puppeteers

Work with our artists to prepare lantern components, tin ornament materials, signage, and set dressing/decoration.

Build & Decoration Crew

We’ll teach everything on-site. Bring enthusiasm and a willingness to pitch in.
