Current and Upcoming Events

Clay & Paper Theatre creates and presents original theatrical works in public space. Explore our new Canadian plays, pageants, parades, and large-scale puppet performances staged in parks and neighbourhood gathering places.

  • Ghost Walk / Earth Dance

    August 14 & 15, 2026

Time itself hosts this lantern-filled twilight journey through Dufferin Grove Park, introducing audiences to giant figures of endangered and extinct ghost animals — Sturgeon, Owl, and Caribou — alongside coyote characters confronting their own fates in a world trying to erase its non-human neighbours. An exploration of climate grief and the earthly beauty that remains.

  • The Machine

    Remount Summer 2026

The Machine is a compact, dark, clown- and puppet-fuelled satiric street show skewering the hubris of capitalism and technology. Created and developed in 2025 through Clay & Paper Theatre’s Summer Residency Program.

  • Night of Dread Festival

    Coming Soon - October 2026

Our beloved annual festival of pageantry, puppetry, and participation. Night of Dread invites the city into a month-long theatrical journey — from collective creation to a powerful park pageant — where we confront and laugh at our deepest fears for the world together through giant puppets, masked performances, live music, installations, and a fiery finale.
