The 26th Annual Night of Dread Festival

Clay and Paper Theatre invites you to call on, mock and banish your small fears and your big fears for your community and the world.

Clay and Paper Theatre is the resident theatre company of Dufferin Grove Park. Since 1994, we have been producing plays, pageants and spectacles with and for the community, grounded in the idea that performance in public space is an act of cultural transformation. Our practice of building, rehearsing, and performing in full public view is an attempt on our part to reunite art with the daily life of the community and to make art accessible to all.

Explore Our Work

As artists, we tell today’s urgent stories through plays, pageants, parades and spectacles.

As a professional theatre, we create multi-disciplinary, image-based theatrical experiences with and for the whole community.

As trainers and mentors, we are committed to educating and training emerging artists, theatre practitioners and communities alike in puppetry, material arts building and performance techniques for today’s outdoor storytelling needs.

As collaborators, we make sure large and diverse audiences can always participate – through free or pay-what-you-can performances and free, community studio opportunities.
